A controversial idea
What if rehabilitation gave prisoners
a future to return to?
Africa has a serious problem with repeat
offending.
One reason can be that people leave prison and
return to the same economic conditions that
contributed to their problems in the first place.
We want to explore a future where, with the
permission and supervision of governments and
correctional authorities, prisoners could
participate in approved productive activities,
learn skills, create content and potentially build
legitimate financial resources.
Inside:
Learn skills and participate in approved work.
Create:
Produce approved content or useful products.
Build:
Accumulate lawful resources under proper
supervision.
Release:
Leave with skills, experience and a starting
point rather than starting from zero.
This is a future concept requiring government
partnerships, legal authorization, security
controls and appropriate financial safeguards.
It is not currently an M265 programme.
